The Fish Farm Unit is an industrial fish farming initiative that aims to work with communities to promote high tech fish farming on a large scale.
As the world’s human population increases and open water fisheries are rapidly depleting as a result of overfishing, Spayk T aims to provide a sustainable solution to the overfishing crisis by introducing high tech methods of fish farming that allow farmers to generate far more fish than with traditional fish farming.
Project Details
Population growth is having a huge and compounding effect on the world fisheries. From the year 1960 to 2015, the world’s population more than doubled from 3 billion people to over 7 billion people.
Over that same time period, the combination of increased population and increased affluence has driven a 5 fold increase in worldwide fish consumption from about 25 million tons in 1960 to over 130 million tons today.
The effect on the world’s open water fisheries has been dramatic and often devastating. Increased fishing fleets and more aggressive fishing techniques have brought many of the world’s most productive open water fisheries to the brink of collapse.
Spayk T is determined to provide a solution to this situation through controlled and sustainable industrial fish farming.
Our ground-breaking aquaculture system makes fish breeding under controlled temperature conditions a possibility thus allowing fish production during all seasons, independently of external factors attainable.
This system resolves the oxidation of ponds and makes efficient use of the pool area thus reducing in the overall cost of feeding. This advantage allows for a more competitive market price.
Community Benefits
The Fish Farm Unit will provide substantial employment and economic benefits to engaged communities. Communities should expect significant boost in the welfare of its people and an increase in its revenue streams.
These Benefits include:
- Increased business activities as a result of other service sectors engaging in the Project’s activities. Business interests in haulage, construction, technical supplies etc. will experience a relative upsurge in their activities.
- Community residents will benefit from the employment opportunities that will be provided by the fish farm unit projects and other industries.
- There will be increased welfare for community residents as the consumption of sea food will be higher as a result of the lower prices.
- The government will benefit from increased revenue through direct and indirect tax recovered from increased business activities.
The Fish Farm Unit has recorded proven success stories that has helped local communities address many economic challenges. Spayk T plans to increase the number of communities that will benefit from this development in the near future.
